In episode 176, Tammy put on her tinfoil hat about “required” security, likening it being forced to wear seat belts. I’d like to point out that the right of someone else’s fist stops at the end of my nose. Not wearing a seat belt impinges on the rights of the non-wearer’s family, and the society which must pay to care for the comatose, as well as widows, and orphans. At a less dire level, a poor password can reveal contact information that might include folks vulnerable to phishing or other exploit. It’s pretty hard to be self-contained these days, so that we are free to make all the foolish choices we want.
